GdS: Inter on pole to land Calhanoglu after bettering Milan’s offer – the latest

By Isak Möller -

In a surprising turn of events, Inter are now close to securing the signing of Hakan Calhanoglu on a free transfer. The No.10, as we know, hasn’t responded to Milan’s renewal offer and he might never.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Inter have identified Calhanoglu as the perfect player to replace Christian Eriksen. Of course, the latter’s future is yet to be decided, waiting on the verdict of the doctors.

Meanwhile, Milan’s negotiations with the Turkish international have stopped and the current deal will expire in nine days. the Rossoneri have put €4m per year on the table but the player has continued to ask for €5m.

Inter, therefore, have stepped in to satisfy the demands of Calhanoglu as they see it as a great market opportunity. Stefano Pioli has always considered the No.10 a very important player and won’t be as happy about the events.

  1. Pioli can leave if he is not happy…Hakan has never been that consistent anyway..Losing him to Inter sucks but we can upgrade with Ziyech on loan..Hakan was not worth his money
