GdS: Leao, Bonaventura could join Ibrahimovic in new-look attacking trident

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s arrival at AC Milan is set to spark a possible new-look attacking trident for Stefano Pioli to use, a report claims.

A number of different outlets are reporting that the 38-year-old has said yes to another spell at San Siro, and the striker himself may have confirmed the move on his Instagram story.

La Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday morning (via MilanNews.it) speculate about the possible changes that could come now the Swede is set to sign.

The formation will always be 4-3-3, the paper claims, with Zlatan at the centre – though there are doubts as to whether Suso and Hakan Calhanoglu are the right people to flank him as they do not attack the space in behind.

For this reason, Rafael Leao may come back into prominence on the left, if Stefano Pioli wants to take advantage of Ibra’s movements to find space in the penalty area.

However, Giacomo Bonaventura is also an option as he has in the past shown very good movement and an ability to sniff out goalscoring opportunities inside the area.
