GdS: Milan are much more than just Ibrahimovic – each department carries significance

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has changed the mentality at Milan since his arrival back in January, helping the team undergo a big transformation. However, the Swede isn’t the only reference oiunt of this strong Rossoneri side.

As today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport states (via MilanNews.it), Ibrahimovic is the natural leader and the demanding factor. He pushes his teammates beyond their limits, but a team has complex mechanisms for which each department matters.

And from this point of view, Milan are doing great. Simon Kjaer, for example, has been crucial for the Rossoneri at the back. Alexis Saelemaekers is also worth mentioning, balconing the games with his amazing work-rate and hard work.

That being said, the names are many, from Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie to Theo Hernandez and Ante Rebic. In short, having the right player in the right place is just as important as Ibrahimovic.

Milan, therefore, have their own recognisable identity and a proven (team) game plan. Them sitting in first place in the standings is far from a fluke.
