GdS: Milan’s attack fades without the brilliance of Leao – key absence is felt

By Isak Möller -

After two consecutive draws, in which Milan were very poor, it’s clear that they have a lot to work on in the coming days. Above all, the Rossoneri need to be more composed and dangerous in attack.

Since the start of the year, it feels like almost everything has revolved around Rafael Leao, bar the derby brace by Olivier Giroud. Yesterday’s clash was certainly an example of that as the Portuguese winger opened the scoring with a great goal.

As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Leao is able to give Milan an advantage over their opponents when he’s up and running. However, as soon as his contribution starts to fade, so does the entire Rossoneri attack.

Olivier Giroud and Ante Rebic both struggled to find a way through last night and it’s also becoming clear that Milan miss Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He’s fearless in front of goal and is not afraid to drop down to create chances. Stefano Pioli can only hope that the Swede will be back in action soon.
