GdS: Milan face first Scudetto test against Napoli – Bonera’s men to take charge

By Isak Möller -

It’s not the biggest challenge of the season, but certainly thus far. Napoli have started the season well and will be looking to close the gap with Milan. Is Stefano Pioli’s side (tomorrow Daniele Bonera’s) a Scudetto team?

Of course, as written by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), seven games are few to reach certain conclusions. But Milan, regardless of what the outcome will be in the end, are expected to take charge of the encounter against Napoli.

They have a very specific game identity, enthusiasm along with proven balance. Although they failed to win last time out, they don’t have any particular pressure: their goal has always been top four and no one expected them to be in the Scudetto race.

There are many good reasons, therefore, to foresee Milan as a protagonist in the standings during the season. Tomorrow’s clash, however, will be the first real crash test for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his teammates.

Of course, there was also the derby clash against Inter but it took place over a month ago and it was still very early. The game against Napoli will be even more significant from a testing standpoint, the newspaper concludes.
