GdS: Milan face transfer dilemma as €38m flop lacks suitors – swap deal only option

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the upcoming season, AC Milan will be looking to offload a few players to make room for some signings. Lucas Biglia and Jack Bonaventura have already left and they surely won’t be the only ones.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), taking stock of the Rossoneri’s market, Lucas Paqueta is another player that could leave. However, he’s also part of the group of players that lack suitors, making it very tough for Milan.

Ever since his arrival from Flamengo in January 2019, with the Rossoneri paying a whopping €38m for his services, he has failed to live up to the expectations. This past season was one to forget for the Brazilian, who didn’t get to play much either.

It seems the only way for Milan to part ways with Paqueta is through a swap deal. The newspaper, as we wrote about in detail here, also mentioned that he could be included in a deal for Nikola Milenkovic, who is on the Rossoneri’s radar.

  1. When Paqueta came to Milan, some acclaimed him as another Kaka. What do these people have to say now ? Where they making fun of us, or is it the club that has not been able to make proper use of his services ?
