GdS: Milan player ratings for Spezia defeat – Calhanoglu the worst; duo also criticised

By Isak Möller -

Milan will have to rely on the help of Lazio to keep their spot at the top of the Serie A standings this evening, as the Biancocelesti will take on Inter. The Rossoneri missed their chance, losing against Spezia last night.

It was, frankly put, a disastrous performance by Stefano Pioli’s men and it was very frustrating to watch. They lacked everything last night and Spezia dominated the game from start to finish. Few players impressed, in other words.

Gazzetta Dello Sport (see photo) rated the Milan players and only one player was sufficient for the newspaper, namely Gigio Donnarumma with 6.5/10. Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Simon Kjaer were just behind with 5.5.

The likes of Diogo Dalot, Theo Hernandez, Franck Kessie, Soualiho Meite, Mario Mandzukic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic all got 5. Meanwhile, Ismael Bennacer and Alexis Saelemaekers were deemed very bad with a rating of 4.5.

The worst, however, was Hakan Calhanoglu who had a very flat game, always out of position and without timing. Not something we are used to seeing from the No.10.
