GdS: Milan’s probable XI to face Bologna – one change expected as Rebic returns

By Isak Möller -

Following the win against Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League qualifiers, Milan are now gearing up to take on Bologna for their Serie A opener. Anything other than three points will be a disappointment, of course.

The Rossoneri were far from spectacular on Thursday evening but did the necessary to secure a spot in the third round. However, Pioli surely identified a few things that his side needs to improve and hopefully will put into practice on Monday.

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (see photo below), the manager is expected to make just one change to the starting eleven. Ante Rebic, who is serving a three-game ban in Europa League, is available and will start on the left flank usual.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Gabbia, Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Castillejo, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic.

This means that Alexis Saelemaekers, who frankly wasn’t that good last time out, will be on the bench. Sandro Tonali will also be on the bench, as the Rossoneri are in no hurry to insert him into the team.
