By Isak Möller -

Despite initial positive reports, Theo Hernandez could miss the start of the season, which would be a big blow for AC Milan. Today, Gazzetta Dello Sport provided some updates on the matter.

During the game against Bayern Munich, the Spaniard sustained an ankle injury after a bursting run down the left flank. Despite playing only the first 45 minutes, he was named the MOTM for his splendid first half.

Therefore, many Milan fans were worried when he was forced to leave the pitch on a stretcher. Initial reports suggested that it was only a sprain, but AC Milan released a statement on the matter yesterday confirming otherwise.

“Today, AC Milan defender Theo Hernández underwent a scan to his right ankle following the injury suffered during the match against FC Bayern in the ICC tournament. The examinations have revealed a capsule-ligament injury. The player will undergo more tests in two weeks time,” the statement read

As added by Gazzetta Dello Sport, the start of the season is now at serious risk for Hernandez. On Monday, the fixtures of the upcoming season will be revealed.
