GdS: Torino consider move for Milan midfielder as part of double swoop

By Oliver Fisher -

Torino could land a double blow on Milan as they are looking to sign a midfielder in addition to Diego Laxalt, a report claims.

Gianluca Di Marzio told Sky Italia on Tuesday night, as cited by MilanNews.it, that Torino are closing in on the signing of Laxalt, who is destined to leave the Rossoneri this summer.

The Uruguayan full-back has been deemed surplus to requirements at Milan and is now set to follow Ivan Strinic out of the exit door after he terminated his contract on Monday.

Di Marzio added that Torino have reached an agreement with AC Milan on the basis of a loan with an option to buy.

However, as per Wednesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), Laxalt might not be the only player that the Granata look to take from Milan.

They state that Torino are ‘evaluating’ the possibility of a move for Hakan Calhanoglu late in the transfer window, though no more information is offered.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recently claimed that the 25-year-old is assessing his options amid interest from a number of clubs in the Bundesliga.

However, the paper have provided an update on Sunday (as transcribed by PianetaMilan.it) by claiming that fellow Serie A side Torino are now interested in Calhanoglu.
