GdS: Torino turn away from Niang as new striker nears move

By Oliver Fisher -

According to the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday morning, Torino is always looking for a striker.

The report claims that in the last few hours, the club are pressing on Umar Sadiq, the 20-year-old Nigerian U23 international who plays for Roma.

His eventual arrival would remove all other options, including M’Baye Niang, an option that, with the passing of time, is becoming more and more unlikely.

This is because AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella is not convinced enough to allow the Frenchman to leave. He believes, according to previous reports, that Niang has had a good preseason and could still serve a purpose to the team this season.

It was previously suggested that Niang could be used as a possible counterpart in a deal for Andrea Belotti, along with defender Gabriel Paletta, however Urbano Cairo’s unwillingness to sell the striker means that Milan are now looking at other options.
