GdS: Why Pioli will play Bennacer from start against SPAL

By Isak Möller -

After the disappointing display against Roma last time out, Stefano Pioli is ready to make some changes to the line-up. On Thursday evening, the Rossoneri will face SPAL, and Bennacer could play from start.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), the Algerian should play from start. Recently, the former Empoli man has been sitting on the bench, as Pioli has opted for the experienced Biglia instead.

However, per the report, the manager now wants to see a change in their style of play. With Bennacer, the Rossoneri’s play will be much more dynamic, as the 21-year-old often defends his side by going forward with the ball.

Sitting in 12th place, Milan are in desperate need of three points after securing just ten in the first nine rounds. A top-four finish is slowly drifting away, and even though the season is long, something needs to happen very soon.
