GdS: Gimenez and the two Portuguese – Milan’s plan to ‘solve’ the attack

There have been several problems for AC Milan this season, and it is why the club have not achieved their targets so far in Europe and domestically.

For this reason, important deals needed to be made in the mercato, and Milan are showing they mean business at the closing of the window.

As Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes, the lights at Casa Milan were on ‘until late’ once again, with Giorgio Furlani working hard to assess opportunities and find the right players to free the Rossoneri in the second half of the season.

The ‘Big Day’

The first deal that needed to be finalised was the most important – the arrival of Santiago Gimenez. He will travel to Milano today to sign as an AC Milan player after the club closed the deal for more than €35 million, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Because of this figure, Paolo Scaroni will have had to sign off on the deal, as it surpasses the €20m mark, so he will also have been present. A much-needed arrival, and credit to the club for getting their primary target.

More options

Included in the report as well is some information on Joao Felix, whose arrival in Rossoneri colours is not to be ruled out. Last night, there were suggestions that the club would be ‘knocking’ on the Chelsea doors and this has been strengthened.

Jorge Mendes is expected to arrive in Italy to discuss a deal today, and the deal is, on paper, relatively straightforward – a straight loan with a discussion in the summer not to be ruled out.

Straight rejection

The final piece of news from the Gazzetta report is about Rafael Leao, who was once again sought by the riches of Saudi Arabia. Milan, though, had no interest in listening to offers and once again referred to their release clause.

After all, Leao is the reference point of the attack, and with the team already strengthening their attack, losing their star would not make sense, especially considering Leao could further better himself with better options around him. In theory, the arrival of the duo partnered with the stay of Leao could ‘solve’ the attacking problems.

      1. No please. Theo has all ability to become the best but sadly his mentally is weak. he depends on the team performance, if his teammates show great performance he will be better than other, but sadly if the team play poorly, he will be the worst. not to make him captain is the best move by Sergio, since he didn’t have captain material. but i still have hope from him

      2. Because the crowd is dense… Theo has played without a replacement for 4 years. Game in Game out. Yet we’re appalled his form dipped and he’s not his old self…

    1. I agree. But we should have sold Theo in summer, now it is late and next summer his price will be much lower. Invest on Barteshagi. Buy also a good central defender.

      1. Bro theo had bad day i know but barteshagi is average at best bro, it is like you sell serginho/jankulovski and replace with constant, it is rare to find better LB then theo nowdays, if any then he must be so much expensive. We need to keep our best player, we are a big club no need to sell.

      1. What are you the teams accountant??? “There isn’t any money for Ricci”????

        BS

There is plenty of money we just chose not to spend it. Buying Ricci should be automatic. No excuses if the team wants to win.

Always defending the profit margins of RedTurd eh @uberhulk??

        Disgusting

    1. Please and please, let get Ricci . He young, strong and experienced. This team is dying with loan and rejected players from other teams we buy from,we we need to regain our dignity. Please get Ricci
