Journalist suggests Fiorentina could sell Milan target Chiesa to fund signings

As Zlatan Ibrahimovic renewed his contract, it seemed Milan shifted their priorities from initially wanting to sign a striker. Considering that Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic can act as backups, they could sign a right-winger instead.

Just a few days ago, Florence-based newspaper La Nazione reported (via MilanNews) that Milan have a strong interest in luring Chiesa to the San Siro this summer. In fact, they are preparing an offer to convince Fiorentina to let him go, per the report.

In an interview with Radio Sportiva, as cited on their Twitter, La Nazione journalist Stefano Cecchi spoke about the situation of Chiesa. He left yet another clue in favour of Milan, suggesting that the winger could fund Fiorentina’s mercato.

“Commisso wants to make his mark, I’m confident about this, but I’m afraid the market will be financed by the sale of Chiesa. Whoever takes Federico will make a great signing,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if the Rossoneri will make a move for the 22-year-old. After signing Sandro Tonali, it might be too expensive for them to sign Chiesa as well, but it all depends on the formula and the figures.
