Journalist suggests Ibrahimovic ‘probably doesn’t believe’ in Milan’s Scudetto chances

Following the loss to Napoli, and their poor form as of late, Milan are now nine points behind their city rivals Inter, who are in first place. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri won’t give up on the Scudetto just yet.

Some may argue that Milan should focus on the top-four race instead, but if wanting the Scudetto gets them to perform again, that will work. In his post-match interview last night, Zlatan Ibrahimovic made it clear that he still believes in the Scudetto.

An ambitious goal, of course, but one that could give the Rossoneri the fuel that is needed to get out of this tough period. Speaking live on Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Peppe Di Stefano explained that this is what it’s about, rather than a realistic expectation.

“Ibrahimovic is so great that he understood that he had to present himself to the media, probably he doesn’t even believe in the Scudetto, but he says it to keep the hopes high within the team. Ibra spoke almost like a manager,” he stated.

Milan will take on Fiorentina this Sunday and Ibrahimovic is expected to play from the first minute, having made his return against Man Utd. He probably doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs, but it’s good to have him from the start.
