Milan may be struggling right now, but they should also be proud of the journey they have made since the league resumed post-lockdown last year. This evening, two Rossoneri players were awarded for this.
At the Gran Galà del Calcio AIC, Gigio Donnarumma was named the best goalkeeper of the 2019/20 season in Serie A. Not that surprising perhaps, as the No.99 performed on a high level throughout the season as you would expect.
“I’m grateful to everyone for this award. It pushes me to continue giving even more to achieve the most and win it many more times. I want to thank my defenders who make me feel confident and I make them feel confident,” he said about the award.
Theo Hernandez was also awarded for his efforts last season, named the best left-back in the league. And just like Donnarumma, it’s not a huge surprise considering just how well the Frenchman did on the left-hand side.
“Truthfully, I’m really happy to receive this great award. Thanks also to my teammates, without whom I wouldn’t have been able to win this. I’m happy, very pleased, and I’ll just keep working,” he said.
