Franck Kessie is a key player for Stefano Pioli and Milan, as shown by his ten goals and five assists in the league this season, and it’s not a surprise that a renewal is on the card. As always, though, an agreement must be reached.
The Ivorian midfielder has played almost every game from to finish this season, highlighting his importance, and Milan simply must renew him. The current deal will expire in 2022 and they don’t want to wait too long.
Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanLive), which you can read more about here, stated that the demand of the player is €5m per year. The Rossoneri don’t want to go that high, but perhaps they could meet somewhere in the middle (maybe €4m).
In his interview with SportWeek (via MilanNews), the weekly edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, Kessie was asked about the renewal. He made it clear that he’s focused on the season finale and will give his all until the summer.
“Now I’m focused on the work that we have to finish and that must bring us to the Champions League. At the end of the season, we will speak with the club,” he stated.
