L’Equipe: Milan remain in race for €15m Strasbourg defender – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Milan are looking for a centre-back on the transfer window, eager to secure one before the transfer window closes. Several names have been mentioned in the media and it seems the Rossoneri are vigilant on the front.

According to L’Equipe (via GFNF), Milan are still interested in Strasbourg centre-back Mohamed Simakan. The 20-year-old has played the first three games of the season from start and although his side has lost all of them, several clubs are interested in him.

In addition to the Rossoneri, the likes of Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen are also monitoring the situation. The latter recently sold Kai Havertz for a big €80m fee and would thus have no issues paying the price tag of €15m.

Rennes recently made an inquiry as well, so the youngster isn’t exactly lacking potential suitors. As for Milan, though, they need to collect fund before making a move for Simakan. Furthermore, he doesn’t appear to be their first choice.
