Longo: ‘Positive’ Rabiot contacts but move hinges on Jovic – the situation

Luka Jovic’s future remains uncertain and while the main transfer windows closed at midnight, there are still some options on the table for the Serbian. If he were to leave, AC Milan could go for Adrien Rabiot as per a report.

The Rabiot rumours re-emerged yesterday as we revealed that Milan had tabled a new contract offer for the midfielder, who’s currently a free agent. If you weren’t aware, free agents can be signed outside the transfer deadlines.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Jovic believed that the renewal exercised at the start of the summer was a guarantee for his future. Instead, however, the uncertainty has grown and Milan are now evaluating the sale to free up a slot for Rabiot.

The striker had offers from Saudi Arabia and Qatar prior to renewing with Milan, but now that Tammy Abraham has arrived, he could re-evaluate these options. The Rossoneri had positive talks with Rabiot yesterday but everything is tied to Jovic, so they could push for the move.

Jovic’s agent Fali Ramadani has good connections in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, so it’s possible that these options could re-surface for the striker. The hope is that the latter will understand his role in the team and decide to move.

  1. We’re also paying origi €4mn/year net to do nothing. If we can get rid of this bum that would presumably also open up the finances to buy Rabiot.

    1. Yes but that’s only one player. And only Origi
Milan removed so many players in last 5 years on permanent transfer.
And still have many youngsters on loan.
So for now all departures done very well and Origi is one who make his trouble.

    2. Bite the bullet, terminate his contract, what choice do we have, or make him a kit guy or the guy who bring orange slices at half time.

  2. Kick Jovic he never be for Milan but our disaster politics came him here. Colombo for him is master, even Cutrone is better. Camarada is better with 1leg then Jovic all

    1. Is it more important to respect a player who does not have the quality to deal with challenges, or to bring a player in the middle where we need him?

        1. They extended his contract and he has security, salary. Should he sit on the bench and stands or should he go somewhere and play, and Milan bring a player in the position where he is needed? What are you talking about?

      1. One has nothing to do with the other.
But generally speaking if we wanna go the pc route, yes you should respect everyone as human being and as a professional football player playing for “your” club.

        1. Ok, then we respect Origi and Balo, let’s respect everything. Players are employees of the club and when they work poorly they get fired or vice versa they fire you like Kessie, Dona and Chalha

          1. I do respect those 2. Ain’t their fault the club doesn’t want them. And they been nothing but professional about it.

  3. Saudi Arabia’s window closes on September 2nd. Rabiot, unattached free agent, can be signed anytime regardless of transfer windows. So, this could still happen. However, I doubt that Jovic will get and/or accept an offer from the Arabs.

  4. I think Luka Jovic is a great player if the coach know how to use it…but still right now Ac Milan need to speed to the right track and I think maybe Fonseca must consider duo from Jovic with Morata or Camarda with Okafor..because the type player complete each other..if Yazici is going to Ac Milan the puzzle in atacking will complete…

  5. transfer window in Serbia is still open for two weeks. Crvena Zvezda is playing Champions League. maybe they want to loan Jovic.
