Mediaset: Inter offered chance to sign Bakayoko by Chelsea

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s city rivals Inter have been offered the chance by Chelsea to sign midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, a report claims.

Bakayoko joined the Rossoneri last summer on a 12-month loan deal with a €35million option to buy, and after early struggles he became a key part of the squad making the decision to exercise that option seem like a formality.

The Frenchman then hit the headlines for the wrong reasons as he was the victim of shocking racist abuse, and an expletive exchange with boss Gennaro Gattuso led to suggestions he would be returning to Stamford Bridge at the season end.

Nothing has yet been heard officially from the Milan camp to suggest Bakayoko will be arriving on a permanent basis, most likely due to the fact they are waiting until the new manager is in place before making personnel decisions.

As a result, Sport Mediaset are reporting that Chelsea are now looking at finding a new home for the former Monaco man and have offered him to Inter on the same €35m terms.

Newcastle have also been linked with a move for Bakayoko, who made 42 appearances for Milan this season in all competitions.
