After the win against Torino on penalties, Milan will face Cagliari away from home on Monday night. It’s a big opportunity for them as they could cement their lead at the half-way mark, thus crowned winter champions.
However, Stefano Pioli will have to do without several players such as Matteo Gabbia, Ismael Bennacer, Rade Krunic, Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao. Fortunately, there is a bit of good news for the Rossoneri ahead of the game.
According to SportMediaset (via MilanLive), Alexis Saelemaekers has recovered from his injury and could even start against the Sardinian side. That would put Samu Castillejo back on the bench, with the Belgian favoured by the manager.
Since his arrival from Anderlecht a year ago, the versatile youngster has been an important player for Milan and his return is certainly a boost for the team. Hopefully, he can make a difference for the team on Monday, that is if he starts.
