Milan 4-0 Palermo: Player Ratings

By Ahmed Khalifa -

AC Milan produced the best response to a draw at Pescara as they routed Palermo 4-0 at San Siro.

Suso opened the scoring with a free-kick before Mario Pasalic bundled home, and Carlos Bacca added a third before the break with a header.

Gerard Deulofeu got the fourth in the second half, but who was Man of the Match on a memorable day for the Rossoneri?

Starting XI

Donnarumma (7): The young goalkeeper didn’t have much to do in the game, though did make a couple of great saves and keeps his 11th clean sheet of the season.

Calabria (8): An excellent performance from the Milan youth product both defensively and in attack. Davide got his 1st assist of the season with a fine cross to Carlos Bacca.

Zapata (7): The Colombian stayed strong in defense to help earn the Rossoneri’s 11th clean sheet of the season and helped out in attack too, going forward a few times.

Romagnoli (7): A rock at the back, the young Italian defender. He caused problems for the opposition offense to help the Rossoneri keep another clean sheet.

De Sciglio (7): Mattia returned to action as the captain of the home side at the San Siro and got himself an assist with a wonderful through ball to Gerard Deulofeu.

Kucka (8): Our Slovakian tank proved to be crucial to our midfield with some great passes forward and chance creation. His physique in the centre of the field was incredible.

Sosa (7): It was a good day at the office for the Argentine veteran who put in a solid performance in the regista role, creating opportunities for the attack.

Pašalić (7): Getting his 4th goal of the season, scoring in back-to-back games, the Croatian had a great game. He is proving to be an important factor for the Rossoneri this season.

Suso (8 – MOTM): Boy are we glad to have him back! The Spaniard curled in a brilliant free-kick for the first goal and put in a delicious cross to assist the second. Creative genius.

Bacca (6.5): It wasn’t a great game overall for the Colombian, but he got himself his 13th Serie A goal of the season despite missing a few good chances.

Deulofeu (7): A fine performance overall from the Spaniard who got his second Rossoneri goal since joining in January. Gerard displayed great skill and speed.

Substitutions

Locatelli (7): The young midfielder came on for Jose Sosa later in the second half and put in a solid performance, creating chances in attack and helping out the defense.

Antonelli (6.5): Other than a missed golden opportunity, Luca was solid after coming on for Suso to play on the left wing, moving Deulofeu to his preferred right wing position.

Lapadula (6.5): We all love Gianluca’s hard work and determination and he didn’t lack it this time around and came close to scoring after a nice team play with Bacca.

The Coach

Montella (8): Coach Vincenzo led the team to display his type of football, keeping most of the possession and playing wonderfully. Even after the Rossoneri led 3-0 at half time, the Italian tactician pushed for more goals until the end.
