Francesco Camarda played just 45 minutes in Lecce’s game against AC Milan last night, forced to undergo hospital checks after a knock to his head.
After starting in the opener against Genoa, the Milan loanee Camarda got the chance again last night against his parent club. He was pretty anonymous in the first half and was subsequently subbed off after half-time, which at the time seemed like a reasonable substitution.

However, there is more to the story. The youngster suffered a knock to his head relatively early in the first half and thus struggled for the remainder of it. The head coach, Eusebio Di Francesco, even said that he couldn’t remember what had just happened.
“Camarda couldn’t remember what had just happened on the pitch,” revealed coach Di Francesco in his press conference. I asked him about his positioning on a corner and he couldn’t remember anything. That’s when we went on red alert,” he said as transcribed by Football Italia.
There was great concern that Camarda had suffered a concussion, but thankfully, the tests came back negative as reported by Antonio Vitiello. He should thus be back in action very soon again and perhaps he could even fulfil his commitments with Italy’s U21 side during the break.
this is the kid you guys wanted to replace santi right now? giminez has big boots to fill , but camarda would have a bigger gap if he had to step into giminez boots . the quality is night and day between them , which is obvious given ones 17 and ones 24 . but you guys make it seem like santi is this striker where a prospects better than him.
