Mediaset: Two Milan midfielders competing to replace Diaz against Lazio

By Euan Burns -

Both Tommaso Pobega and Aster Vranckx are in contention to replace Brahim Diaz in the AC Milan squad for the Lazio game, a report claims.

As has been reported by Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), Milan coach Stefano Pioli is expected to stick with his 4-2-3-1 formation but he may swap Diaz for a more physical player.

That then suggests that either Pobega or Vranckx will be the one coming into the midfield as the other midfielders in the squad are attack-minded.

By doing this, Pioli would then also have another option to bring on from an attacking perspective from the bench as Diaz has been in decent form until the last few games.

The other area of the starting eleven that is open for debate is the striker. The coach may opt to start Divock Origi rather than Olivier Giroud as the Frenchman is struggling with the number of games that he has played.
