ML: Milan defender faces toughest task yet as Pioli considers change vs. Bologna

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli could make some changes to the Milan XI that managed to beat Parma on Wednesday evening. One of them could take place in the defence, more specifically on the right-hand side.

According to MilanLive.it, the manager is considering to field Davide Calabria instead of Andrea Conti, who once again disappointed last time out. Furthermore, the latter has been the starter in all the games and could use some rest.

For Calabria, it will be somewhat of a ‘last chance’. The No.2 is on the list of sellable players and he hasn’t been able to prove his qualities as of late, with Pioli opting to start Conti instead.

The defender came through the Rossoneri’s youth academy and his sale would thus guarantee a full capital gain, unlike his rival in the defence. In addition, he doesn’t exactly lack suitors with the likes of Torino, Sevilla and Bologna showing interest.

Milan also recently signed Pierre Kalulu from Lyon, with yet another signing expected for the right-back position in September. Therefore, Calabria’s fate seems sealed and it’s now up to him to prove the club wrong.
