MN: 14 days until preseason begins with Milan still seven or eight signings short – the strategy

By Oliver Fisher -

There are two weeks until AC Milan’s preseason campaign officially gets underway and there are still a lot of question marks about the squad.

MilanNews writes how as things stand Stefano Pioli will have to work with a limited squad when the players reconvene at Milanello, with around seven or eight reinforcements missing Brahim Diaz and Sandro Tonali could join up too, but Maldini and Massara will have to speed up the times to assists Pioli’s preparations.

Two full-backs are needed, namely deputies to Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez. Junior Firpo is the number one target for the latter, while the hope is that Diogo Dalot could return from Manchester United. The Rossoneri will have to prevent being short on midfielders when Kessie and Bennacer go to the AFCON in January, with Tiemoue Bakayoko and Sandro Tonali the reinforcements eyed.

With the departure of Hakan Calhanoglu, Milan will need a new playmaker to compliment Brahim Diaz. A new right winger to partner Alexis Saelemaekers will also be needed, while in the centre-forward department Ilivier Giroud is the first name on the list, with other last-minute opportunities eyed (which applies to all roles).

  1. Don’t we have any Primavera Players to promote as Right Full-back & as Left Full-back?
    What about Hauge as Playmaker?
    & Pobega as Central Midfielder?
May be we can consider our own young players. Other clubs have good young players because they are given chances.

    1. Mr man we are playing in Champions League next season so you want us to play champions league with our primavera players right you want us to play all 3 competition with Hauge and pobega am sorry to say this you’re not a good Milan fan you don’t want Milan to bounce back 😱😱🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

      1. I didn’t suggest all positions are filled with our young players. For Striker, Right Winger, I didn’t mention it above, because we need experienced players to play. I also didn’t say that Milan doesn’t need experienced players as Playmaker etc, but suggested to bring special talents of youth team, if any, as alternative solution considering club’s economic condition. I’m quite sure Milan’s target will not be champions of UCL next season. It will take time, but it’s not impossible.

    2. That “kid” Milos Kerkez is VERY VERY talented as our Left Back on our Primavera team.
No idea why he’s not getting promoted.
