MN: Crazy games can be avoided but Pioli isn’t Allegri – another win for Milan

By Isak Möller -

Despite being one man up for most of the game, and then two men up, AC Milan had to work hard to get the win against Bologna last night. They got it in the end, though, and that’s all that matters.

As highlighted by MilanNews, the Rossoneri got the job done and are at least momentarily first in the Serie A standings. They also equaled a record last night: it’s their best start to a season since 1954/55 (also eight wins in the first nine games).

With nine players injured, including five starters, it was never going to be easy for Milan but of course, they could have defended their lead better. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his teammates succeeded, albeit with a lot of hard work and another ‘crazy scoreline’, but they succeeded.

These games can certainly be avoided with a bit more concentration and last night was a perfect example of that. However, Stefano Pioli isn’t like Max Allegri, who has made a habit out of winning games narrowly and with little drama. But that doesn’t matter, because Pioli gets the three points anyway.

  1. It matters oh.

Pioli is Mediocre and cannot and will not deliver trophies for Milan.

If there ever was a necessary 3 points then it was the match against Bologna because Napoli is playing Roma and Juventus playing Inter.

This is the week to put some distance against some title competitors.

  2. Well as for me all that matters now is the three point, we don’t have the best players in serie A, but we still manage to be where we are today, juventus bench can make milan 11 and they are struggling. Some milan fans don’t appreciate good things and it will not always go our way that’s why its a game. The lads did what they are sent to do which is the 3 points other matters will be address by the coach. Pioli has my 100% support at least for 2 season we are starting good and smiling at the top. Forza milan

    1. I agree. We don’t have the depth of Inter or Juve nor the talent, but somehow we are still managing to win. The game was ugly our worst yet and we didn’t deserve it but will take the win. I hope January brings a few reinforcements like Faivre and Kamara, and summer we bring in a young dependable striker (Vlahovic). I hope all of these injuries or absences (Diaz, Theo, etc…) shows the club we need more quality players to make series challenge in league and CL for next year. But hats off to Pioli who continues to win despite the lack of depth and experience.

  3. I like the way Milan is trying their possible best wining their matches but wish is Milan to sign Brahim Diazl I love his style of playing he is a very talented player
