MN: €60m spent but more to come – four new signings and three renewals on the agenda

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are the Serie A side who have been the most active so far in the summer window, but there is still business to be done this summer.

The Rossoneri have concluded the signings of Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori, Sandro Tonali, Olivier Giroud, Fode Ballo-Touré and Brahim Diaz (who will be announced soon), and MilanNews reports that the Rossoneri have already invested a figure of €60m into the market already when factoring in bonuses.

However, the strengthening of the squad will not stop there as Stefano Pioli expects at least four other reinforcements, namely a new attacking midfielder, a deputy right-back and a young striker to complete the squad and be even more competitive than last year.

The management will also focus on negotiations over the renewal of Franck Kessie, who wants €6m net per year to commit his long-term future to the club while Milan are thinking offering that amount including bonuses. Talks with his agent George Atangana are expected to try and find an agreement.

It is not only the President’s contract that is occupying the minds of Maldini and Massara though, as they are also starting to think about the extensions of Simon Kjaer and Theo Hernandez, expiring in 2022 and 2024 respectively.
