MN: Milan and Inter edge closer to agreement with city council over new stadium

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan’s plan for the future includes building a new stadium, maximizing the revenue opportunities along with city rivals Inter. Although San Siro is a lovely stadium, it’s a bit outdated compared to today’s standard.

According to Anto Vitiello of MilanNews.it, there was a new meeting between Milan, Inter and the city council earlier today to discuss the new stadium. Optimism is filtering on the matter, per the report, as both parties made progress.

The only thing holding back the project is the commercial volume, which is the area that will be built around the stadium. While the council want to respect the PGT (Territorial Government Plan), Milan and Inter are asking for a bigger area.

An agreement is now close on the matter and could be formalized in the coming few days. In other words, there are no more obstacles for Milan and Inter, who are eager to start the stadium project.
