MN: Milan are not dependant on Ibrahimovic goalscoring-wise but attackers need him

By Isak Möller -

Life goes on without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but the Rossoneri are clearly affected by his absence. Although they have continued to score, the attackers have struggled, forcing other players to step up.

As highlighted by MilanNews, Ante Rebic hasn’t lived up to the expectations and Rafael Leao has been up and down all season. Since Ibrahimovic got injured, though, Milan have scored eight goals, which is an average of two goals per game.

The problem, however, is that Samu Castillejo is the only attacker that has scored a goal. The other goals have come from the defence (Hernandez X2, Romagnoli, Calabria, Kalulu) and the midfield (Kessie X2), which is indeed a worrying (but also positive) sign.

Milan may not be Ibrahimovic-dependant in terms of goalscoring, therefore, but his attacking teammates sure seem to need him. Had the usual defence been deployed, then maybe the Rossoneri would have won their last two games.
