MN: Milan confident of completing swoop for €30m-rated duo and filling two gaps in squad

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on completing two exciting signings, a report claims, as negotiations continue on both fronts.

We reported via our correspondent Pietro Balzano Prota that discussions are ongoing for Mohamed Simakan and that the deal could be done at any moment, and that Milan have accelerated their pursuit of Toulouse’s Kouadio Kone because they believe him to be the right reinforcement and because competition is growing.

According to the latest from MilanNews, the Simakan operation is proceeding well, but the definitive white smoke has not yet arrived. There is a difference of around €2-3m between offer and demand and the deal could close halfway at around €18m, so long as Strasbourg lower their demands of €20m.

There is confidence and optimism regarding the outcome though, and Simakan is held in very high esteem by the management because he is considered a strong and powerful defender, who can play both as a centre-back and as a right-back. There is already an agreement with the player over a five-year deal.

Meanwhile, Koné is deemed as ‘ready’ by the scouting department to come in and make a difference now despite being just 19 and despite playing in Ligue 2. The player has given the green light but an agreement with Toulouse is still missing as Milan want to pay €5-6m while the request exceeds €10m. There is confidence that this deal will be close too.
