MN: Milan handed potential lifeline as Genoa and Samp want defensive outcast

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will face Sampdoria tonight and the two clubs could perhaps discuss the future of Andrea Conti. The latter is expected to leave the Rossoneri this summer and work is underway to find him a new club.

The right-back returned from his six-month loan spell at Parma earlier this summer and made a few appearances during pre-season. However, he has been left out from the squad for tonight’s game between Milan and Sampdoria.

His exit, therefore, seems to be imminent and according to Anto Vitiello, Genoa and Sampdoria are interest in his services. Atalanta seemed very interested as well but opted to sign Davide Zappacosta from Chelsea instead.

A lifeline has been handed to Milan, therefore, who are keen to offload Conti permanently as his contract will expire next year. Even at a small fee, the defender’s exit could help them on the market. Perhaps some updates will arrive after tonight.
