MN: Milan ready to extend Pioli’s deal as mutual trust continues to grow

AC Milan should soon announce the extension of Stefano Pioli’s contract as the club look to reward him for his excellent work since arriving, a report claims.

MilanNews writes how Pioli has been one of the architects of the rebirth of Milan, and he seems very much to be the right man in the right place to continue on a winning path after he – with the help of his squad and the management – managed to transform the fortunes on the field.

It all began in October three years ago when he was chosen as a replacement for Marco Giampaolo, and a gradual upwards journey from there culminated in Pioli guiding Milan to the 19th league title in their history, ending an 11-year drought.

In November 2021 Pioli’s contract was renewed until June 2023 with an option on the following season. Milan have every intention of exercising this option to extend the relationship with Pioli by another year, and there will also be a results-based pay rise.

Pioli has the highest points per game average of any coach at Milan since the start of the three-points-per-win era, standing above even Ancelotti and Allegri, and now Milan and Pioli are ready to continue together.
