MN: Milan’s three objectives for Inter derby include revitalising Brahim Diaz

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will face Inter in the long-awaited Derby Della Madonnina next Sunday and it will be an important game in many ways. Both teams are fighting for the Scudetto and whoever wins will get a huge confidence boost.

Stefano Pioli’s men are currently level with Napoli on points after the 0-0 draw against Juventus last weekend. Inter, meanwhile, are four points ahead of them and also have a game in hand.

This means that a win would do a lot of good for Milan, taking them well within reach of their city rivals. As highlighted by MilanNews this afternoon, there are three objectives the Rossoneri have for the game.

The first is obviously bounce back from the last two home results (1D, 1L), which sounds easier than it is. Milan have done well away from home this season as well and they just need to find some consistency at San Siro.

The second objective might be the toughest one, as it’s to get the win against Inter. The derby is never an easy game and the Nerazzurri appear to be in good form. Finally, Milan want to get their No.10 Brahim Diaz going.

It would be the perfect occasion for a comeback as the Rossoneri’s former No.10, Hakan Calhanoglu, now plays for Inter. Diaz started the season incredibly well but hasn’t been the same since he got Covid-19.
