MN: Pioli ready to put trust in Conti amid doubts over Calabria’s future

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is reportedly set to start Andrea Conti at right-back once again for the game against Napoli after the international break.

Conti joined the Rossoneri back in 2017 arriving in a deal from Atalanta, but suffered two serious injuries which kept him out for the majority of the two years he has been here.

Milan have had problems at right-back this season with Davide Calabria having been suspended twice, but it was perhaps a surprise to see Conti named as the starter there for Sunday’s game against Juventus.

Nonetheless, he was one of the best players on the pitch in the 1-0 defeat as virtually nothing came down his side, earning a 7 out of 10 in our player ratings.

According to MilanNews.it, Pioli is set to confirm Conti as the starting right-back in the game against Napoli which comes after the international break.

This is no doubt a blow for Calabria, who has been linked with a move to Sevilla in January by recent reports in the media.
