MN: Tonali has changed the midfield hierarchy – almost untouchable at Milan

By Isak Möller -

Sandro Tonali has convinced at the start of this season after what was a mediocre first year with AC Milan. In just six games, he has managed to change the midfield hierarchy and really show off his qualities.

As highlighted by MilanNews, Tonali is a pivot for this Rossoneri side and is almost untouchable at this point. Almost because Stefano Pioli has high-level options for the midfielder in the shape of Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie.

Tonali, as said, has overturned the hierarchy as he’s now level with Bennacer and Kessie, if not more. He’s no longer a second choice, a deputy for the aforementioned, but rather a starter in all respects.

For tomorrow’s game, Tonali is in battle with Bennacer for the starting spot alongside Kessie, who is in the best shape physically. Pioli will most likely make the decision at the final minute, but that’s not the point: Tonali is a pivot and the manager knows it.
