Despite AC Milan’s home defeat to Empoli this weekend, head coach Vincenzo Montella’s future is not at risk.
Milan suffered a shock home defeat to Empoli yesterday, losing 2-1 thanks to Mame Thiam winner in the 67th minute. Milan also had a penalty saved by Lukasz Skorupski, meaning the Rossoneri are still without a win under their new owners.
Milan’s mediocre run of form has placed their chances to qualify for the Europa League in jeopardy, which has of course placed pressure on Montella.
Despite the slight concern over the direction of Milan, Tuttosport has reported that club sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli is looking to keep Montella at the club.
There has been little rumour regarding the potential sacking of Montella, however the report suggests that Montella’s job is momentarily safe.
