OFFICIAL: Nikola Kalinic joins AC Milan on four-year deal

By SempreMilan -

Nikola Kalinic has today been officially announced as a new Milan player after a transfer saga that dragged on throughout the summer.

Kalinic is expected to join Milan for around €20m plus an additional €5m in bonuses. He is expected to be handed the number 7 shirt, previously worn by loanee Gerard Deulofeu.

Here is the official statement from acmilan.com:

“AC Milan are delighted to announce the signing of Nikola Kalinic from Fiorentina ACF on a loan deal with obligation to buy. The player has penned a 4-year contract through to 30 June 2021.”

Kalinic has had his heart on joining Milan ever since their interest was made clear, and it took just about until the end of the summer transfer market to cloe the deal, with Milan being heavily linked to serveral big name strikers including Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang and Alvaro Morata, with neither move materializing in time.

Kalinic, 29, is expected to compete heavily with fellow new-arrival, and €38m investment, Andre Silva, but one thing he does have over the Portugese is his invaluable Serie A experience, which is also set to benefit Silva, and 19-year-old academy product Patrick Cutrone.
