Official: Udinese vs. AC Milan starting XIs – Four changes as Bakayoko starts

By Isak Möller -

In around an hour, AC Milan will face Udinese in the 17th round of Serie A. Stefano Pioli’s men are currently in first place and need a win to stay there, hoping to get through a period with many injuries.

A total of eight players will miss out on the action for the Rossoneri this evening, and many of them are key players. This says a lot about the circumstances Pioli is fighting, having decided to make four changes to the starting XI.

Alessandro Florenzi replaces Pierre Kalulu in the right-back position after what has been a positive last few weeks for the Italian. Further up the pitch, Tiemoue Bakayoko starts instead of Franck Kessie while Alexis Saelemaekers is also back. Ismael Bennacer also starts.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Tomori, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Bakayoko; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Krunic; Ibrahimovic.

Bench: Mirante, Tătărușanu, Ballo-Touré, Gabbia, Kalulu, Castillejo, Kessie, Messias, Tonali, Maldini.

Official Udinese XI (3-4-2-1): Silvestri; Perez, Becao, Nuytinck; Molina, Arslan, Walace, Makengo, Soppy; Deulofeu, Beto.

Hopefully, the Rossoneri will claim all three points and keep their spot at the top of the standings. The Scudetto race is incredibly tight and every win will be crucial ahead of the Christmas break.

  1. so, both Tonali and Kessie is fit, and yet Pioli deems it fit to rest both players? These are litlle mistake Pioli cost us, and he keeps doing this over and over.

Even if we come out winner in this match, this is still a wrong starting line up. A mixture of Tonali/Benercer or Kessie/Bakayoko but, not Bakayoko and Benercer.

      1. Your coach is playing to rusty Central midfielders in a must win match and you can’t see anything wrong with it.

Hope you saw the first those 2 rusty Midfielders cost milan.

After 26 mintues, there is single save from Udinese Goalkeeper

        1. I said before, Pioli is not the right man to guide us to win us trophies. He needs to be sacked ASAP. He always has a dramatic finale.
Managements need to reconsider about their Doctors, injury has been a recurring theme in time of needs. Elliot do your thing, you wanted Pioli gone now is the time

      2. Your coach is playing 2 rusty Central midfielders in a must win match and you can’t see anything wrong with it.

Hope you saw the first goal those 2 rusty Midfielders cost milan.

      3. @Solomon, i hope you are watching the match where you are?

Very poor starting line-up, why do you keep benching your players when you can always field them?

Pioli is just our own enemy.
        My hands are crossed.

        1. Hope he saw the Dumbo coach proving that he does not k ow what he is doing.

He replaced the 2 rusty Central Midfeilders who have not business starting the match in the first place.

So he knew he was gambling which will back fire

    1. I have said this many times.

That Milan will not win scudetto with this Dumbo coach Pioli. There is a reason he did not win anything is his carreer even though he handle Inter, Milan, Lazio and Florentina.

Milan will be a just about team like the Coach.

Too bad, because Milan have the players to win the scudetto and compete in Europe

      1. I totally agree. Pioli is like Spalleti, they have capable team but can’t bring result until last moment. Last year with top 4 finish, this year with UCL. Always waiting for last couple fixtures to decide our date. I’d be surprised if we are scudetto contenders in the last few games 🤣🤣

    1. I want Adli, Pobega and Tonali in mieldfield but i know Pioli wants Kessie, Bakayoko and Benacer. I dont understand the team policy is to get a young Milan but the coach doesn’t trust young players..

    1. You mean the coach? Pioli is 💩💩💩 when it comes to tactics. We wouldn’t have problem if he kept Hauge but his boy Krunic get to stay. Funny thing is Hauge play on the right side in Germany

  2. Tonali said it all Milan threw the first half away. Meaning that Dumbo Coach Pioli threw the first half away.

The dumbo coach also threw the scudetto away last season

He is also doing his best to throw the scudetto away this season.

My problem is they keep rewarding him with contract renewals

@Gazidis, kindly intervene because Maldini and Massara will just be waiting and hoping to be prooved right with Pioli’s choice.
