Gerry Cardinale has been busy today as after meeting Milan mayor Beppe Sala in the morning, he met with Lombardy president Attilio Fontana in the afternoon. The stadium project is moving forward, in other words.
Milan have confirmed that they are keen on building the new stadium in the La Maura and the preliminary plan will be revealed in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, Cardinale is working hard to get some important players on his side.
On his Instagram, Lombardy president Fontana described today’s meeting with the Milan delegation. He stated that it was a ‘cordial’ meeting, adding that it’s an ‘important new project’.
“Today, Gerry Cardinale showed me the project for the new AC Milan stadium that he would like to build in the ‘La Maura’ area in Milan. A cordial and positive meeting, to fully understand AC Milan’s intentions for this important new project.
“As we said goodbye, we made an appointment to meet again at the San Siro for the Milan-Naples Champions League match… without adding anything else,” he wrote.
