Pioli explains what Milan need to beat Atalanta and secure Champions League

By Isak Möller -

Milan are preparing for what will be the biggest of the season, taking on Atalanta away from home in a Champions League-deciding clash. After the draw against Cagliari last weekend, the Rossoneri need all three points.

That is, of course, assuming that both Juventus and Napoli will win against Bologna and Hellas Verona respectively. A slip-up from either of them would be very unlikely and thus Milan have to focus on getting the win tomorrow.

During today’s press conference, as cited by MilanNews, Stefano Pioli spoke about the challenge his team will be facing. He also discussed what they need in order to come away with all three points from Gewiss Stadium.

“Mental strength, compactness and quality. Without quality, you can’t win certain games. We will have to be very strong from a mental point of view, we should be lucid to overcome the difficulties of the match and play our kind of football,” he stated.

The game is scheduled for 20:45 CEST and since it’s the last of the season, with so much at stake, Napoli and Juventus will play at the same time. Just before 11 tomorrow, therefore, we will know how the UCL saga has ended.
