Pioli makes goal clear ahead of Christmas break: “I want to beat the 43 points”

Ahead of the game between AC Milan and Napoli, which will take place tomorrow, Stefano Pioli had his usual press conference. The manager made his goal clear ahead of the Christmas break, with just two games remaining.

After the game against Napoli, Milan will face Empoli away from home and it will be crucial for them to finish the year on a good note. They may have a lot of injuries, but the same can definitely be said about Napoli.

As said, Pioli was asked about his expectations for the final two games and he stated that he wants to beat the tally of last year. They got 43 points in the first half of the season then and are currently at 39 points.

“We are having a very good first half of the season, there are still two games left. I would like to beat last year’s 43 points. Tomorrow’s opponent has great qualities and has an excellent coach, we certainly need to raise the level of the performance,” he said as cited by MilanNews.

Hopefully, Milan will come away with all three points tomorrow. It would be a huge confidence boost, especially since the Rossoneri haven’t beaten Napoli at the San Siro since 2014, when Filippo Inzaghi was in charge.
