Watch: Pioli says Milan ‘deservedly won’ against Bologna and praises new arrivals

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli was rightfully happy with his AC Milan after they managed to beat Bologna 2-0 last night. It was a comfortable win for the Rossoneri but the manager also knows that his side can do even better.

It was important for Milan to bounce back with a win after the 1-1 draw against Atalanta, and also because Inter lost to Lazio on Friday. There isn’t much time to enjoy the three points, though, as they will face Sassuolo in two days.

Speaking to MilanTV after the game (see video with subtitles below), Pioli shared his thoughts on what was a strong team performance by the Rossoneri.

On the game: “Honestly, I expected an even more energetic start but Bologna made things hard for us, they tried to play the ball well. We worked a lot and managed to keep our lines compact, we deservedly won. We can still improve in the way we manage possession.”

On the new players: “Adli and De Ketelaere are coming along well because they are smart lads. Obviously, it’s going to take time because knowing each other on the pitch can make the difference. I’m very happy with their performances.”
