Pioli on playing before or after Milan’s Scudetto rivals: “Nothing changes”

By Isak Möller -

This round of Serie A is a bit special as there are some great games to watch while Milan, the league leaders, will play on a Monday. This also means that they will know the results of their rivals, but that doesn’t bother Stefano Pioli.

The Rossoneri are currently three points ahead of Napoli and six points ahead of Inter, who have a game in hand. The Partenopei will face Atalanta later today and the Nerazzurri will face Juventus, meaning points are bound to be lost.

Milan could, therefore, head into tomorrow’s game knowing that they will either be under great pressure to win or have the opportunity to extend their lead. Two scenarios that don’t matter to Pioli, though.

“Nothing changes. We have to stay focused on what we can determine, which is our game. We will go out on the pitch knowing the results of the others, but that doesn’t change our preparation,” he stated during today’s presser.

With so much at stake, this mentality is probably a must to continue their Scudetto pursuit without unnecessary distraction. After all, it remains in their hands there is no need to stress too much about other results.
