Pioli reveals what Leao must do better as battle with Hauge and Rebic is fierce

Rafael Leao has had a positive start to his season. In six league games, he has registered two goals and three assists, which already is almost as many points as he got last season. He can still improve some things, though.

The Portuguese youngster, who arrived from Lille last summer, has played five of the six appearances from start. However, the season hasn’t been easy for him, testing positive for COVID-19 at the start and now just recovering from an injury.

In an interview with SportWeek (via MilanNews), which you can read some more of here, Stefano Pioli was asked about Leao and his potential. The manager revealed a few things that the 21-year-old needs to do better.

“Rafa doesn’t care about his body language. He’s a very intelligent boy, but every now and then he gives you the feeling of being in the midst of clouds.

“He has grown a lot, but he faces competition from Rebic and Hauge, because to be ambitious we have raised the level of the team. I would like him to have more enthusiasm, he should laugh a little more,” he stated.

The Rossoneri will take on Parma at 20:45 and Leao isn’t expected to play from start, which is understandable as he recently returned from injury. The upcoming games, though, will be important for the winger to prove himself.
