Pioli says Inter are ‘recognizable’ tactically; provides update on Ibrahimovic’s condition

On the eve of the clash with Inter, AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli faced the media at the usual press conference this morning. For the Rossoneri, it will be a very important game as they would like to continue their unbeaten run.

Ahead of the training session at Milanello this afternoon, the manager spoke at Milanello about the game. Seven points behind Atalanta and Roma in fourth, they need the three points to continue the ‘Champions League’ rhythm we have seen this year.

“The truth is that Inter have done much better at the beginning of the season and we are trying to recover, we are entering this derby well.

“Preparations? The best part is making a strategy for the game, taking into account the characteristics of the opponents. We have prepared a strategy, we will see if it will be the right one tomorrow.

“Inter are a recognizable team in their tactical situations, we want to be a dangerous and very compact team. We must be good at seizing the possibilities.

“We have to show that we have clear ideas, that we have prepared the game well. The difficulties are there, the critical moments are there, but when you have predefined ideas and concepts you must be a team until the end,” he began.

During the week, there has been a lot of talk about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who missed the game last time out due to the flu and a muscle issue. The Swede has worked on a personalized program in training and Pioli provided an update on his condition.

“Ibra has worked on a program, if he passes the step today, he will be available tomorrow. His path was right, the main step is missing which is a complete training session with the team,” he continued.

The game will start at 20:45 tomorrow, and Inter are the designated home side. Hopefully, they will grab the win as this game means so much more, given the rivalry with Inter.

“It’s a game that is worth more. My team has shown that it has courage, it’s in the difficulties that you show that you have courage. Tomorrow we have another chance.

“Winning the derby? It would mean an improvement in the standings, confidence and positivity of the whole environment, we must face the game on the right foot.

“Leao or Rebic? Why not both of them together? I will choose the most suitable characteristics for the game, keeping characteristics on the bench in order to eventually change it,” he concluded.
