Pressure mounts on Pioli as Milan have dropped 12 points against bottom-half teams

By Isak Möller -

After the 2-2 draw against Salernitana, which once again highlighted Milan’s weaknesses, many expected AC Milan to come out with energy against Udinese. And while they did take the lead, they dropped too deep afterwards.

Rafael Leao’s opener felt like the perfect scenario for Milan, getting that goal quite early against a side that is hard to break down. However, instead of acting as a boost for more attacking, the Rossoneri were pinned back by Udinese.

Although Udinese’s equaliser should have been ruled out, the game highlighted Milan’s struggles to kill a game against a bottom-half side. In fact, they have now dropped 12 points against teams placed in the bottom half, which obviously isn’t good enough.

Two draws against Udinese, losses against Spezia and Sassuolo, and the draw against Salernitana. These are results that certainly have affected their Scudetto pursuit and they need to bounce back asap, with pressure mounting on Pioli.

  1. Regardless of the last two results i highly doubt that pioli is under any pressure atleast from the management as it simply wouldnt make the slightest sense to replace him at this point and potentially throwing away the great work we have done for a quick fix.
What would make sense is to make it clear to ibra that we would like him to stay but not as a first choice but as a super sub when he is ready. A new contract should basically be based on his appearances, goals, assists and potentially trophies won,
We simply cant rely us on that he is fit or not and seeing him stay in as a first choice potentially meaning that we wont get belotti i would have a hard time forgiving both ibra and the management if he becomes an anchor around our necks limiting our progress and getting this particular move done because he wants to stay while clearly he isnt fit to play an entire season.
Keeping him as a sub would be great but i doubt ibras ego would allow him to play second or third fiddle in any team but at this point he should accept such role and put the club ahead of that.

  2. Facts are that if we were not robbed against 2 of those teams by corrupt referee’s, no one is talking about pioli’s record, we would be clear league leaders and the rest would be fighting for 2nd place.

  3. Please replace him.
Bring some one that can attack
With Liverpool we where 2-1. He bring 6 defenders in we lost. Such idiot.
With small team we lost so much point
Please enough with this guy. Tell hi
    To coach Genova
