It has been a very tough season for Ante Rebic, including more injuries than goals scored, but he has still managed to make his mark. In fact, pundit Luca Serafini believes Milan play at their best with him.
This season, Rebic has racked up 28 appearances for the Rossoneri in all competitions but he has really struggled to find consistency. Bagging just three goals and two assists is the result of that, which is much less than he’s capable of.
He did show his importance at the start of the season, however, and we have seen glimpses of his brilliance in the last few weeks. Most recently against Hellas Verona, for example, he should have had an assist after a great pass and he was crucial for the winner against Lazio.
Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, pundit and journalist Luca Serafini shared his thoughts on Rebic’s importance. He stated that Milan have played their best football with the No.12 as the centre-forward.
“In these two and a half years, Pioli has expressed his best game when Rebic has been the centre-forward. That is because a ‘classic’ centre-forward struggles at Milan and participation in the build-up phase is key. Rebic has been missed a lot this season.
“Giroud struggles a lot in that sense and Milan struggled when he tried to involve himself in the play, even though he fought with everyone in Verona. The role of the centre-forward at Milan isn’t easy,” he stated.
I totally agree.. Milan should stop buying Classic no. 9’s they make our gameplay predictable , although Origi would be an excellent pivot for some games he has skills that Giroud doesn’t.
100% true. Cmon mr pioli open your eyes & mind, please start rebic as number 9 vs atalanta & sasuolo. Even when he not score the game he build at front will totally better than giroud

Also in the beginning of the season we saw much better performances from Diaz and Saelemaekers. It is not a coincidence.
Diaz doesn’t run vertically like Hakan, he runs everywhere.
Having a box striker like Giroud places too much burden on the three players behind the striker, especially the playmaker.
Leao’s has been compensating for this with his individual brilliance, but that’s not enough.

Agree with this statement. But, we still need number 9 like Giroud. What maķes Ibra different from other Milan strikers in the past is also his ability in building the play. To be honest I really miss Rebic’s best games.
Rebic should be at the 10, he is more of a threat there, enough with the headers, strong with back to goal ,quick on the turn, tall enough to have great vision when passing in close, and good with both feet. He makes every one better in front of him with strong defence on oppositions counter attack. He is good at 9 but wasting some of his talents when he is a little further from goal.

Rebic just needs to be on the field more period — whether at center forward, at CAM instead of Brahim/Kessie or at RW instead of Saele/Messias.
He has better quality creating goals with his assists or his scoring ability and his pressing is fantastic and causes so many turnovers and opportunities for us.
Rebic should start on the right. He will be a Suso.
Rebic and Leao should interchange positions from time to time to confuse the enemy defenses. Rebic is fast on the counterattack too.
Rebic is the secret to why Brahim played well in those games.
Rebic is younger than Zlatan and Giroud. He can run and pull back and play closer to Brahim.

I’m totally agreed rebic is the best of our center forward, he has the fully confident especially in the debt.
We can play Rebic as Cam, but Pioli will not experiment at this stage
Giroud is a class act ,let’s make no mistake about that had it not been for his goals against the top two others teams ,that is inter and Napoli ,we would not still be in the scuddeto race ..I am a great fan of Oliver and he reads the game so well ,he is always aware of the thereabouts of his team mates , technically he is brilliant..I have always believed that we can win the scuddeto this season ,and indeed I believe we will.
It’s Olivier Giroud and AC Milan for me ..We have such an exciting young team ,but also experience of Zlatan and Olivier that experience is paying dividends .
When Olivier starts we always seem to get results .
