Report: Newly-relegated Cagliari join race to sign promising Milan striker on loan

By Isak Möller -

Lorenzo Colombo is expected to leave AC Milan on loan again this summer, following a somewhat disappointing spell at SPAL this past season. The interest remains high, though, and Cagliari have joined the race.

At the age of 20, and given his physique, Colombo still has a lot of room for improvement and Milanm haven’t given up on him yet. However, they won’t be able to guarantee him playing time next season and thus another loan is on the cards.

This past season, Colombo found the back of the net six times and he also bagged one assist. He scored a few bangers for the Serie B side but the feeling was still that he could have done a bit better goal-wise, but that hasn’t changed his potential.

According to La Nuova Sardegna, as cited by MilanNews, Cagliari are interested in bringing in the youngster on loan after getting relegated to Serie B. SPAL could also try to keep him for one more season, meaning a battle could emerge.
