Report: Calhanoglu on the verge of joining AC Milan

By Isak Möller -

Out of nowhere, reports from Germany suggest that Bayer Leverkusen’s Hakan Calhanoglu is close to joining AC Milan.

German football news-site Revier Sport claims that AC Milan have reached an agreement with Calhanoglu’s agent for the player’s contract. Moreover, AC Milan are currently negotiating with Bayer Leverkusen to close the deal, with Leverkusen valuing their player at €20-30m. More updates on the matter are expected in the coming days.

However, Sky Italia’s transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio claims that negotiations have just started for the Turkish midfielder, although he confirms that Milan are very interested.

AC Milan are also working hard to sign Andrea Conti, a new regista, and possibly a winger. Conti looks set to join Milan for €25m, and a deal is expected to be reached soon with Atalanta. Gianluigi Donnarumma will also meet with Milan after the U21-Euros to discuss his contract renewal after all, having received a five-year deal worth €5m per year.

  1. he is fantastic with dead balls. But my real unrelated question is if Milan is including buyback clauses in the contract of the primeavera (youth) player going out?
